Kizzy: The Feline Princess With a Purpose

We were first introduced to Miss Kizzy after she won a licky-treat challenge hosted by Professor Fluffovich, our resident feline research specialist. While Kizzy’s enthusiasm for tube-based treats was certainly impressive, it wasn’t what held our attention.

What stood out was Kizzy herself—a fluffy Maine Coon–Ragdoll mix whose calm presence has become an important part of her Meomy’s daily life.

Unlike many cats, Kizzy regularly accompanies her human on outings, riding comfortably in her stroller and taking in the sights and sounds of the world around her.

“People see the stroller and assume I’m just there to look pretty,” Kizzy told Catster (with a little help from her Meomy). “Which, to be fair, I do exceptionally well. But I’m also there to supervise.”

Not Just a Pretty Face

At first glance, Kizzy’s stroller might seem like a novelty. Spend a few minutes watching her, however, and it quickly becomes clear that she’s exceptionally comfortable in her role.

While many cats would find busy environments overwhelming, Kizzy appears remarkably unfazed by crowds, unfamiliar places, and the general bustle of public life. According to her Meomy, she settles into her stroller with confidence and calmly watches the world go by.

“They see the pink stroller and the fluffy Maine Coon x Ragdoll coat and think I am merely here to look pretty. They don’t understand that I am a professional,” Kizzy explains.

Kizzy may be joking about her credentials, but her composure is genuinely impressive. At home, she has plenty of typical feline moments, including spirited debates with neighborhood birds. Out in public, however, she seems to operate by an entirely different set of rules. Rather than reacting to every new sight or sound, she appears content to sit back and observe.

The Art of Being Present

People often ask whether Kizzy was trained to accompany her human on outings. The answer, according to her Meomy, is surprisingly simple: no.

There was no formal training program, no carefully structured lessons, and no attempt to shape Kizzy into anything other than herself. Instead, over time, she naturally became a steady and reassuring companion.

Whether she’s purring nearby, offering a familiar presence, or simply sharing a quiet moment, Kizzy seems to have an instinctive ability to know when she’s needed.

“No one taught me to be this composed; I simply realized my human needed a steady hand, and I decided to provide it.”

Perhaps that’s part of what makes Kizzy’s story so special. Rather than being taught a role, she appears to have discovered one on her own.

A Queen in Public

Another unexpected benefit of bringing a cat along on outings is that Kizzy tends to become the center of attention wherever she goes.

People are naturally curious about a stroller-riding cat, and Kizzy seems more than happy to accept the admiration. According to her Meomy, those interactions often help make social situations feel easier and more manageable.

“Humans can be terribly noisy and confusing with their ‘small talk,’ which seems to exhaust my favorite person,” Kizzy shares with us. And she appears to have found an elegant solution to that problem: become the most interesting thing in the room.

Whether she’s riding in her stroller, inspecting a new environment, or simply accepting the attention of curious admirers, she naturally gives people something to talk about.

Recently, Kizzy attended a friend’s birthday party and wasted no time making herself at home.

Instead of hiding away or cautiously investigating her surroundings, she confidently explored the space, inspected the available toys, and settled in as though she had been there all along.

It’s hard not to admire that level of self-assurance.

Of course, even the most dedicated professional needs time off.

When the stroller is parked and the day’s adventures are over, Kizzy returns to being exactly what she is: a cat.

“When my work day is done, I am no longer the Professional Anchor.”

At home, that means zoomies, cat-tree lounging, and enthusiastic exploration (paired with her favorite licky treats, too, of course).

“I possess a remarkable talent for the ‘zoomies,’ racing through the house as if I have a fire lit beneath me, chasing invisible treasures, and occasionally testing the structural integrity of the stairs from my prime observation spot.”

Like many cats, Kizzy enjoys balancing moments of high-energy chaos with long stretches of relaxation and observation.

Simply Being Kizzy

For all the attention Kizzy receives, perhaps the most remarkable thing about her is how naturally she approaches her role in her Meomy’s life.

She isn’t performing, following instructions, or trying to be extraordinary. She’s simply responding to the bond she shares with her favorite person.

“I am not a project, and I am certainly not a ‘trend.’”

Cats have been offering companionship, comfort, and quiet support to humans for thousands of years. Kizzy’s story is a reminder that sometimes those connections develop in unexpected ways.

“I am a cat of singular temperament who decided that my human needed a steady hand—or rather, four steady paws.”

Princess, professional, socialite, bird supervisor, and zoomie enthusiast—whatever title she chooses next, one thing is certain: Kizzy is doing an excellent job of being herself.
